PUTRAJAYA: Villagers cannot keep the “bountiful harvest” of cigarettes, clothing and processed tiger prawns they found near beaches in Seberang Takir, Merang and Penarik in Terengganu.
Customs Department director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid said villagers must surrender these goods to the nearest Customs office as soon as possible.
“It’s an offence to keep them because duty have not been paid on these goods. The containers probably fell off a ship somewhere,” he told reporters here Wednesday.
The giant waves swept ashore four containers filled with these goods and hundreds of villagers rushed to get the items.
Question: What say if the hunters pay up the duties, can they keep them?
PS: Sdr AJ. Saudara tersilap kerana kesalahan disini bukannya kerana mencuri hak orang. Yang menjadi kesalahan mengambilnya adalah kerana cukai belum dibayar.
Puan Dr., now I need antidepressants as I am getting more confused.
